Commemorating the 25th Anniversary of SLCBCC, many events were planned & a key highlight was the CSR project which took place in Pahanthudawa in Belihuloya. There was a special purpose to initiate this project & that was the tragic death of Mr.Sanjay Kisha Kumar , the beloved son of our EXCO member Mr. S.Jayakumar. Being a popular tourist attraction , Pahanthudawa Ella is visited by thousands of local & foreign travelers across the year. As much as the beauty there is a hidden danger of drowning in this place due to lack of protection , warning signs & rescue gear infrastructure . Mr. Sanjay also was an unfortunate victim of this location where following this death , the EXCO of SLCBCC launched a CSR initiative to resource the location with a control point with a person on duty to mitigate the risk & provided rescue gear to save lives at an unfortunate occurrence. Since this was activated the incidents & fatalities at this place has reduced by 90% or more .
